The most common way to compete in DECA is through business scenario role plays. You can compete individually or with one other person.
To compete, you will choose a business category and be given a time and location to report to. When you arrive, you will be given a sheet of paper with a business scenario and competencies you should cover. You will be given a set amount of time to review the information and come up with your case. When time is up, you will present your findings and conclusion to a judge and be scored based on how well you presented you information and if you met the competencies.
In addition to the role play, you will take a written multiple choice test. This score will be weighted with your role play to determine the winners of your category.
